Studio Vanraa
Studio Vanraa is a chronicle of Small Scale Industries in and around Mumbai. Ranging from few hundred sq ft to few thousand sq ft, these units are often family run business involved in manufacturing and servicing parts that make the city function. Few remain in the heart of mumbai as tax rates and property costs make it unviable to stay in the city.

100 Rs Sculpture
The project is a set of images of sculptures made from things bought from the Euro Shop, each sculpture is worth Rs 100 (Indian Rupees roughly 1.25 euro). I first visited a Euro shop soon after moving to Germany to get some cutlery so I could eat meals in my student Hostel. Thereafter I have gone there time and again either to marvel at the ridiculousness of the stuff offered there or buy a cheap alternative for everyday consumables.
Each 90s Indian kid has heard this story from their parents that when their grandparents moved to bigger cities they had 100 Rs in their pocket.
Sau Rupya (Hundred Rupees in Hindi) also is the title of a song from a Mumbai based Punk band Riot Peddlers about corruption in everyday life.
The title & concept are a play on these ideas.
