The project is a set of images of sculptures made from things bought from the Euro Shop, each sculpture is worth Rs 100 (Indian Rupees roughly 1.25 euro). I first visited a Euro shop soon after moving to Germany to get some cutlery so I could eat meals in my student Hostel. Thereafter I have gone there time and again either to marvel at the ridiculousness of the stuff offered there or buy a cheap alternative for everyday consumables. The use and throw culture encouraged by consumerism and the excess of things designed and manufactured for contemporary life which may or may not be useful baffles me.
